Please advise all housekeeping staff regarding the following instructions for cleaning of guest room lighting.

All Startex lighting products are manufactured and finished to meet Hospitality standards. All finishes are completed by the application of a final protective coating. Many cleaning solutions will cause the removal of this protective coating, thereby exposing the surface of the lamp to abrasion and corrosion. All Startex lighting should be cleaned with a dry soft cloth only, free of any cleaning solutions. The cleaning cloth must not be the same cloth used to clean anything else in the room where cleaning solutions or polishes may have come in contact with the cloth.

All Startex mirrors and artwork are manufactured and finished to meet Hospitality standards. All frame finishes are completed by the application of a final protective coating. Many cleaning solutions will cause the removal of this protective coating, thereby exposing the surface of the frame to abrasion and corrosion.

All Startex mirrors and artwork should be cleaned with a dry soft cloth only, free of any cleaning solutions. The cleaning cloth must not be the same cloth used to clean anything else in the room where cleaning solutions or polishes may have come in contact with the cloth.

For general cleaning, a dry cloth should remove most surface dust and dirt. An occasional cleaning with a damp rag using a mild soap based cleaner (such as Ivory) should be gentle enough as to not damage leather surfaces. Always do a spot test cleaning in an inconspicuous area prior to cleaning the entire chair. For ink and other deep stains, we recommend contacting a professional cleaner such as a dry cleaner in your area that specializes in stain removal and various fabric cleaning techniques.
